Confirm the Final Band and Feed Before Ordering
The published model sheets use different band labels. The RF tables for all four models show Ku-band linear values, while the feature lists and option headings identify additional feeds. The exact feed, polarization, interfaces and Rx/Tx frequencies should therefore be fixed in the quotation and approved drawing.
Engineering Confirmation
State the required receive and transmit frequency ranges, polarization, satellite service, feed interface, BUC/LNB arrangement and controller functions. Where a published source contains a formatting ambiguity—such as the 1.5 m transmit insertion-loss entry shown as “05”—the intended value should be confirmed in writing rather than assumed.
From Vehicle Integration to Satellite Acquisition
A driveaway terminal is not selected by reflector diameter alone. Roof structure, RF chain, controller logic, power, cabling and operating environment must work as one system.
Check the Vehicle Envelope
Confirm mounting base, roof reinforcement, payload, cable routes, stowed dimensions and operating clearance.
Deploy the Reflector
The controller drives azimuth, elevation and polarization from the stowed position into the operating range.
Initialize Direction Data
Integral sensors support pointing. The 2.4 m sheet additionally lists GPS and an electronic compass.
Acquire the Satellite
Published modes include Beacon/DVB on the 1.2–1.8 m models and DVB-S, DVB-S2 and CW beacon functions on the 2.4 m model.
Verify the RF Link
Confirm signal peak, polarization, RF interfaces, BUC/LNB operation and the project-specific acceptance criteria.
Compare the Four Published Configurations
Use this matrix for first-pass selection. The full tables below retain every published RF, mechanical and environmental entry.
| Model | Optics | Ku Rx / Tx | Gain Rx / Tx | G/T | Tx Power | Weight without BUC | Case Size | Tracking Accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2 m | Single Offset | 10.95–12.75 / 13.75–14.5 GHz | 42.1 / 43.3 dBi | 21.1 dB/K | 1000 W | 75 kg | 1900 × 1400 × 600 mm | 0.045° |
| 1.5 m | Single Offset | 10.95–12.75 / 13.75–14.5 GHz | 43.5 / 44.8 dBi | 21.5 dB/K | 500 W | 120 kg | 1860 × 1520 × 450 mm | 0.045° |
| 1.8 m | Single Offset | 10.95–12.75 / 13.75–14.5 GHz | 45.1 / 46.5 dBi | 20.2 dB/K | 500 W | 140 kg | 2400 × 1800 × 450 mm | 0.045° |
| 2.4 m | Gregory Dual Offset | 10.7–12.75 / 13.75–14.5 GHz | 47.72 / 48.81 dBi | 26.5 dB/K | 400 W | 380 kg | 3620 × 2720 × 800 mm | Superior than 1/5 half beam-width |
The published 1.8 m G/T value is lower than the 1.2 and 1.5 m entries despite the larger aperture. It is reproduced as published and should be confirmed when the link budget depends on this figure.
Where a Driveaway Antenna Fits
These systems are intended for temporary or mobile satellite links where the antenna is transported on a vehicle, deployed at the operating location and pointed toward the selected satellite.

Information Required for Antenna and Vehicle Integration
A complete inquiry should define both the satellite link and the mechanical installation. This prevents the reflector size, feed, controller or outdoor-unit arrangement from being selected in isolation.
| Project Input | Required Detail |
|---|---|
| Satellite and service area | Satellite name or orbital position, target beam, operating region and service provider requirements. |
| Exact receive and transmit frequencies | Use exact frequency ranges rather than only C, X, Ku or Ka band labels. |
| Polarization and RF interfaces | Linear or circular polarization, feed arrangement, waveguide or coaxial interfaces and flange type. |
| Link-budget targets | Required EIRP, G/T, availability objective, modem waveform and permitted antenna size. |
| BUC, LNB and outdoor units | Model, quantity, weight, power, mounting position, interfaces and cable routing. Published system weights exclude the BUC. |
| Vehicle structure | Roof dimensions, payload, reinforcement, mounting points, stowed height, aerodynamic limits and operating clearance. |
| Electrical supply | AC110–230 V, 50/60 Hz is published. The 2.4 m controller is listed as a 2U cabinet with power consumption ≤2 kW. |
| Acquisition and control | Beacon, DVB, DVB-S/DVB-S2, CW beacon, manual control, auto-stow and project-specific interface requirements. |
| Environment | Operating wind, survival wind where stated, temperature, ingress class, humidity and site exposure. |
| Acceptance documents | Approved configuration, drawings, interface list, packing list and the agreed RF/mechanical test requirements. |
